Yes, there is actually a place that combines wine and a safari. Being an animal lover and we all know how much I love wine, this was like a dream for me! This Wine Safari takes place at Saddlerock Ranch, a 1,000 acre vineyard and ranch in Malibu.
Hopping aboard the safari truck, you wind through Saddlerock Ranch’s scenic slopes while stopping to visit the various animals. Some of the animals on the ranch include alpacas, bison, and even a giraffe named Stanley.
After saying hello to all the furry friends, you will come up on two different iconic art installations at the ranch. One being a huge empty picture frame overlooking the Conejo Valley. Use the giant frame to create your own portrait with the rolling hills as a backdrop.
The other art installation is “the door to nowhere” which is literally a door leading to absolutely nowhere. We were staying in the truck but I really wanted to hop out and take a picture in front of the door. Guess I will have to wait until next time…hoping there is one!
We then ended the tour at the top of the hills at “Le Chateau” where we sampled an incredible Chardonnay for the Lodi region. There is something about sipping wine while overlooking a beautiful valley, the Conejo Valley to be exact, that is just serene and peaceful.
Take some time to appreciate the views and sip on your wine before climbing back into the truck and making your way down through the vineyard.
Overall, this safari is so much fun and well worth a visit on your trip to the Malibu area. It is just a quick drive from Conejo Valley too!
