In the busy lives that we lead, we want to make sure that the hour or two we take out of our day to workout is going to gives us the maximum benefits possible. This is where UFC Gym comes into play. Don’t let the name intimidate you. While you aren’t quite going to be working out alongside pros like Anderson Silva or Ronda Rousey, you will be training like them! Give me a body like Rousey and do I really need to say more?
The classes at UFC Gym aren’t just all punching bags and grappling. You have your cross training as well. And these classes are anything but easy.
I stepped inside the UFC Gym in Lake Forest to well…get my ass kicked. Here are some of the classes that I love and that will knock you until the ultimate shape…just in time for summer!
Kickboxing
This class teaches basic Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Western-Style Boxing skills and combinations. Kickboxing is designed to be the perfect total body workout, and the fastest way to the tight, and toned fighter body you seek. The class incorporates cardio calisthenics, bag work, which includes punch, kick, knee and elbow strikes, partner drills, pad work in addition to core strengthening exercises.
Muay Thai (aka Advanced Kickboxing)
Muay Thai class teaches the basic techniques and principles of this martial art, combat sport discipline. Muay Thai, also known as “The Art of Eight Limbs”, is frequently referred to as the most effective striking martial art in MMA. This class includes punching combinations, footwork, kicking, knees, clinching and elbows. Once you’ve tried your hand at our Muay Thai class, you know all of the exhilaration and exhaustion of a five round battle, without any of the bumps and bruises.
Daily Ultimate Training
Daily Ultimate Training (DUT) class is UFC GYM’s signature Bootcamp class. Focused on delivering diverse high-intensity interval training that will shock your system and deliver results. The focus is on technique and functional training – not one class is the same yet each class is competitive and will improve your overall core strength and athletic ability. You will sweat through speed, agility, quickness, core strength, body weight and circuit drills, and you will get stronger with the use of equipment ranging from battle ropes, jump ropes, TRX suspension trainer, plyo boxes, kettle bells, medicine balls, and free weights.
